Star Trek: Starfleet Academy
ICVFX / virtual-production series work for Paramount's Star Trek: Starfleet Academy — real-time LED-volume environments driven live on set. Nader Almaghraby served as Engine Operator.
Episodic Star Trek means expansive sci-fi worlds — starships, academies, alien skies — that have to hold up in-camera, on schedule, and be lit consistently across a long shoot. Green screen alone couldn't carry it.
The show shot on an LED volume with real-time Unreal Engine environments. As Engine Operator, Nader ran the engine on set — loading and tuning scenes, syncing camera tracking to the virtual world, and driving nDisplay so the wall reacted live to the camera for true in-camera VFX.
In-camera final and near-final pixels on the wall — interactive lighting on cast and set, fewer green-screen fixes in post, and a consistent look the DP could judge live.
